Experimental Sound Studio will be closed for the holidays. Enjoy the company of your loved ones instead!
We’ll be updating the site in January with a list of upcoming installations at Audible Gallery (the next being a photography exhibit by Jeff Abell in February), more information for the 2008 Artist Residency Program, and the spring workshops.
In the meantime, don’t forget the call for proposals for Crosscut 2008, a partnership between Links Hall and ESS, for new collaborations in sound and movement. Joint proposals are now invited for the second year of the CROSSCUT program: three pairs of newly collaborating artistic partners will be selected for support with a monetary grant of $5,000 per pair.
More information can be found on the Crosscut page and the Links Hall website.
Happy Holidays from everyone at ESS!

A sincere “thank you” to all who participated in 2007’s Outer Ear Festival of Sound. The Brotzmann Tentet performances and workshops this past weekend were a wonderful way to conclude the festival.
Five Girls (It Held Her Very Close, Their Terrible Cries, There, at the Bottom, They Knew if They Stayed Very Still) by Rebecca Kressley continues at Audible Gallery through December 16th. The four-part video and sound installation combines two apparently contradictory approaches to image and sound composition into a coherent yet enigmatic whole. Audible Gallery is open to the public Saturdays and Sundays 1PM-5PM and by appointment.
There is also the call for proposals for Crosscut 2008, a partnership between Links Hall and ESS, for new collaborations in sound and movement. Joint proposals are now invited for the second year of the CROSSCUT program: three pairs of newly collaborating artistic partners will be selected for support with a monetary grant of $5,000 per pair.
