Upcoming and Ongoing events

Huge thanks to everyone who participated in the Experimental Garage Sale and helped to make it a rousing success.  We hope to make this an annual event.  Here are some links to pictures and recounts of the day:

Ongoing at Audible, through August 17:

Return Relief is a site-specific deinstallation drawing and extension of Kristin M. Frieman’s Thread Tracings: a Dressmaker’s Still Life. Bringing a fresh supply of materials to the gallery space, and using the pinholes of the current installation as a guide, the artist will create a new description of the artwork’s progression in time. The result will be a large-scale wall drawing, a retracing of the original labor in relief.

The installation will run through August 17, 2008. Please call 773-769-1069 or email jonathan[at]exsost[dot]org to schedule an appointment. More information is available on the Audible page.

Ongoing at Lincoln Park Conservatory, through August 17:

Recordings Made in Public Spaces is the latest version of an ongoing project by Jeffrey M. Robinson, a sound artist from Chicago. Jeffrey collaborates with musicians by recording their performances, playing the recordings in large public spaces, then re-recording and electronically transforming them to emphasize the unique acoustical character of each space.

The installation has been extended through August 17, 2008, and is open 9 AM to 5 PM daily.  Please visit the Florasonic page for more information.
