Sunday Solos: Jim Baker

Sunday, March 8
2pm

Experimental Sound Studio kicks off a series of intimate Sunday afternoon concerts with the freeranging, cantankerous piano playing of Jim Baker. Jim will play an improvised (for the most part), 50-minute set in the cozy, acoustically pristine ESS studio space. This is great opportunity to hear one of Chicago’s finest experimental keyboard players up close and on the ivories.

$10 suggested donation, $7 students and ESS members. All proceeds benefit ESS.

Upcoming performances

March 22: Azita – piano and voice

April 5: Olivia Block – piano and electronics

April 19: Michael Zerang – piano and vibrating elements

May 3: Fred Lonberg-Holm – cello

May 17: TBA
